Given that Open Distro does not support Elasticsearch’s Rollup API, does anyone have a workaround for rolling up data? We have the requirement for long term retention of a few fields from indices that have short-term retention.
I’ve read Rollup Support in Open Distro which indicates that the rollup feature is not part of opendistro at this point. I have thumb’ed up the feature request: Add Open Distro Rollup Support · Issue #226 · opendistro-for-elasticsearch/index-management · GitHub .
Would love to hear how others are doing this. Thanks!

Requesting rollup plugin in Open Distro that extends the capability currently of… fered by Elastic X-Pack Rollups. Suggest the proposed approach utilize a Open Distro Job Scheduler extension as the mechanisim for defining, scheduling and exceuting rollup actions, and that Open Distro SQL be utilized (potential modification to this plugin required) to generate composite aggregations that would be necessary to generate usable rollups. Request that the SQL aggregation query function support aggregations across one or more rollup indexes in addition to one or more search level indexes.
