Thanks for posting an issue.

I dig in little bit and looks like it could be due to some JDK version or JDK version conflict.

Could you confirm what version are you using and there are no conflicts in it ?

root@cloudcontrol-elasticsearch2:~# java -version
openjdk version “11.0.3” 2019-04-16
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 11.0.3+1-Debian-1bpo91)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 11.0.3+1-Debian-1bpo91, mixed mode, sharing)
root@cloudcontrol-elasticsearch2:~# which java
/usr/bin/java

root@cloudcontrol-elasticsearch2:~# update-alternatives --config java
There is only one alternative in link group java (providing /usr/bin/java): /usr/lib/jvm/java-11-openjdk-amd64/bin/java
Nothing to configure.

Any fix found @mihirsoni ? We’ve been hit with the same. Not able to configure S3 repository.

@frankfoti, @jawjawjaw - Are you running on Ubuntu 18.04 or docker? Can you try the fix described in: java - Error - trustAnchors parameter must be non-empty - Stack Overflow and if that doesn’t work, java - Error - trustAnchors parameter must be non-empty - Stack Overflow

@vinooamzn Running Ubuntu 18.04.
Got a fix for it. I purged the openjdk-11-jdk and java-common package.
Then installed openjdk-8-jdk and then openjdk-11-jdk. Everything seemed to work. From downloading plugins over TLS to connecting to S3 for snapshotting.

apt-get purge openjdk-11* java-common
apt install openjdk-8-jdk -y
apt install openjdk-11-jdk -y
1 Like

That fixed it, thank you!
